About
Every analytical framework we apply to making sense of the world operates both as a filter and a revelation. It simplifies by necessity, but it also helps us find patterns. To me, complexity and abstraction are parameters that we can tune depending on our values, questions, and capacity for understanding. My own path has been eclectic by design. The creative arts, rigorous technical inquiry, and thoughtful social engagement has showed me the beauty in balance: between logic and imagination, rigor and play, structure and surprise. I have grown keen to engage in complexity critically and efficiently to create different abstractions according to different lens I seek.
At present, I am asking how human narratives, both digital and interpersonal, can be translated into knowledge that matters. My interests currently span:
Deep Learning, Computational Creativity, and Co‑Creativity
How can we develop systems that enhance human creativity? How can these systems be meaningful collaborators in the creative and development process for humans?
Scaling Laws and Complex Systems
As our technological capabilities expand exponentially, how do we understand and predict the emergent behaviors of increasingly complex sociotechnical systems?
Climate Change Mitigation through Technology
How can advanced data analysis and machine learning contribute meaningfully to our urgent environmental challenges?
